LET’S TALK ABOUT SEX

Everyone’s got one. Not two and not none. People are male OR female - it’s our evolutionary inheritance. Humans, the storytelling ape, are mammals. The stories we tell shape our lives according to our beliefs and become our culture. Our stories, beliefs and cultures vary across time and place.

And wherever (or whenever) people are, sex is a fundamental, universal and constant part of our lives. Like gravity and breath, human existence is dependent on sex. Sex shapes a lot of our personal experience, biologically and socially.

We’re all human - we have opinions and disagreements, both within and across cultures, about the social differences between men and women. Then there are the biological differences - and there should be no sensible disagreement about the inherent biological differences between men and women.

But in recent years sensible people could be forgiven for wondering if much of the educated world had lost its marbles, its integrity or a whole lot of both.

MEANING THIEVES

In schools, governments, newspapers, universities, courtrooms … something being called “Gender Identity” is selling the idea that being a woman or a man is not a matter of biology - of sex - but a question of individual belief. And people, especially young people, are buying into this anti-fact ideology.

In this feelings-erase-facts world men are being called “women” in the news by national journalists and broadcasters and women are being called “men” e.g. “Man Gives Birth” & “Blackpool woman accessed child abuse images.” Men are entering women’s sports, winning women’s awards, even being housed in women’s prisons because they say they “identify as” a woman.

Meaning matters in life, in language and in law. And it’s getting lost, consumed by an ideological fatberg. The beliefs associated with “Gender Identity” are tough to grasp for everyone who retains a healthy respect for reality. And questions about these beliefs, let alone doubts or criticisms, are often met with furious, baseless insults.

In the last few stranger-than-fiction years, refusing to believe or adhere to these beliefs can now result in being sacked or prosecuted for “hate speech”. Then there’s the acronyms, the jargon, the terms and the phrases being dolloped on top of this madly celebrated muck heap.

SHELTER FROM THE CULTURE STORMS

In the interest of reason, sanity and general good sense, here - see across and below - are some simple, factual answers to questions every reasonable person finds themselves asking, incredulous and in shock, to help decipher the often impenetrable ideology of “Gender Identity” that has taken the world by stealthy vitriolic storm.

Sex: male or female.
Humans males are called boys/men. Human females are called girls/women.

They’re men. Men are male. Men don’t have any biological capacity to get pregnant. Not one, not ever, in the whole history of time and space, never.
So: NO.

A woman is an adult human female. A girl is a young (i.e. child) human female. A man is an adult human male. A boy is a young (i.e. child) human male. No more, no less. It isn’t complex. It is neither dependent on nor determined by gender or “Gender Identity”.

QUITE SIMPLY: No. They’re women. Women are female. Women do not have testicles or a penis. Evolutionary biology 101.

”Ahhh, but … what about the law that says some males who still have a penis are legally women?!” Law is not fact. And some laws are stupid. People with a penis are male/men/boys. That’s how they have a penis.

AGAIN, QUITE SIMPLY: No. People are human. Humans do not change sex. Ever. Not once, not ever.

No belief, no medication, no “therapy”, no surgery, no law, no clothes, thoughts, tastes, actions or appearance change a person’s sex. female OR male. One or the other: immutable, unchangeable, definitive.

No. All people are human. Humans are either male OR female. No human has ever been neither. People are female (girls/women) OR male (boys/men). Nobody ever was or will ever be neither.

”Ahhh, but … some clueless waffle about people with ‘Differences / Variations of Sexual Development’ …” Still: NO. And D/VSDs have nothing to do with “Gender Identity”.

No. The word “Intersex” refers to people with various congenital conditions of sex development. They are all male OR female.

Gender is the social associations of sex. It’s the word we use for the (culturally) expected behaviours, emotions, attitudes, preferences, roles, interests, occupations, skills, appearances, tendencies of girls as opposed to boys / of women as opposed to men. People make social judgements and have expectations about others’ capabilities or motivations based not on the individual but on our beliefs and ideas associated with their sex.

These beliefs, ideas, expectations and judgements have huge variations over time and place.

Very tempting to play the QI “Nobody Knows” card here, but …
It’s a belief about gender. People who believe in “Gender Identity” feel the need to define (or “identify”) themselves and others in terms of how stereotypically people match the gender expectations, roles, behaviours etc - “gender norms” - of their sex.

When someone says/writes their name, followed by she/her or he/him or they/them, this is what is called their “preferred pronouns”. It specifies how the person wants others to refer to or address them.

That is, instead of saying she/her for girls and women, or he/him/his for boys and men, we are being told which pronouns the person wants us to use because of their “gender identity” and regardless of their sex.

Some people are choosing to specify this. Others have been asked/told by their employers or organisations to specify this. As it stands you may risk disciplinary or legal action if you do not use the terms specified in relation to that person.

Yes. Facts do matter.

Making it illegal to state facts and/or legally enforcing a lie is a dangerous precedent. It’s the definition of institutional corruption. Anyone who values a free, open and liberal society should be deeply concerned about politicians, doctors, academics, lawyers (or anyone else) lying about one of the few irrefutable and fundamental facts of life and the direct and indirect consequences of this reality landslide.

No. Of course not.

Lesbians are women. All of them. Women are female. All of them.

Yes. Even by the NHS.

These, as well as other equally unpleasant terms for woman such as “chest-feeders” are being used in health campaigns e.g. “Individuals with a cervix are now recommended to start cervical cancer screening at 25 …” CNN. Why? Depends who you ask.

According to those using these terms the language is “inclusive” by prioritising “Gender Identities” even in a medical context “since some women have a penis, some men have a vagina and some people are neither men or women as anatomy is not sex-specific.” Facts be damned!

No.

Oddly, no health campaigns or news articles appear to be replacing the word man with unpleasant terms. Just woman/women.

The word man/men, for some reason, retains its factual meaning and use almost across the comparative official material board where the word woman/women has been replaced lest it “cause offence, distress or confusion.” The inconsistency raises a lot of obvious questions.

The terms are confusing because the change/reverse the meaning of the words they use.

A “trans man” is female: an adult woman who “identifies as a man”.
A “trans boy” is female: a girl who “identifies as a boy”.

This is why people who believe in “Gender Identity” ideology assert that “Trans Women Are Women” and those who believe e.g. adult males are men see this assertion as demonstrably false nonsense.

A “trans-inclusive” policy changes single sex services, facilities, positions (etc) to unisex.

That is, anyone who says they “identify as” a girl/woman is regarded as eligible for girls/women’s single sex spaces, services, positions, teams, awards (etc). And, theoretically, the same for those who says they “identify as” a boy/man. This includes toilets, changing rooms, prisons, sports, schools, hospitals, shelters and anywhere else.

No. Evolutionary biology is a tad more reliable than that.

Biology isn’t watching youtube, reading diaries, status updates or and it doesn’t care what we think. People of all ages and both sexes have hugely varying social characteristics, many of which do not equate to stereotypical social expectations of their sex. They are every bit as male/female as those who happen to (or endeavour to) fully conform to those ‘gender norms’.

Well … there’s a lot of this and much of it makes little or no sense. So brace yourself!

Even after the intended meanings are defined, much of it remains bewildering, counter-intuitive, unintelligible or ridiculous to those who aren’t embedded in this subculture. Definitive & conceptual absurdities aside you will at least know … well, something.

PIED PIPERS & CHILDREN LEARNING LIES

Children have been lied to on an unprecedented scale.

Many have been led to believe that “some girls have a penis” and “some boys have a vagina”, that a “Gender Identity” means they need medical intervention to resolve a “mistake” of their “gendered brain being born into the wrong body”.

This is being promoted by many of the very people whose job it is to protect them as many more in authority refuse to step in to safeguard them and prevent them from harm.

LIES IN LAW & BANNING FACTS

While believing a lie is not crime, stating a lie as fact certainly can be. Legally enforcing a lie - that people can ‘change sex’ - is bad law with fast escalating consequences for children, women and society at large.
